This is one of Barbara's most prized awards out of more that 100 over the last 30 years. She is a professional oil painter and Art Student League master instructor. She was raised in Texas, moved to Colorado where she raised her family of five children and now lives in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. She is following her passion and living the dream, trusting that God will hold her up. She paints in the Euro/ American tradition "en plein aire" and is known for beautiful landscapes and intimate colorful floral gardens. Her paintings capture the very heart of time and place and reflect her love of subjects known mostly to New Mexico and Colorado . Barbara teaches on- g oing classes and workshops for galleries, art leagues, colleges and museums in the Taos area and throughout the southwest. Her distinctive, energetic style for teaching has made her a very popular instructor. She is among Colorado notable artist and is making her mark in New Mexico as well. Barbara judges shows,does critiques and gives presentations on every aspect of art and being an artist. She especially loves to do presentations on "The art of "Plein Aire" and "What Judges Look for in an Award Winner". She had an monthly television show 'Art for Children' on PBS in Colorado Springs and does art related radio interviews and presentations. Most recent One Person shows including Adobe Gallery, Canyon Road , Santa Fe, New Mexico and Wilder Nightingale Gallery, Taos,New Mexico . She has particaped in 'A Russian Night in Taos' Invitational at the Taos Museum & Fechin House for the last two years and expects to be invited again this year. Barbara's paintings were recently on display at the well known San Angelo Museum of Fine Art, San Angelo, Texas during a workshop. Recent Shows, Workshops and Demos
